About the Fall Symposium

On September 23, 2011, we will be holding the 2nd APMP Pacific Northwest Fall Symposium. Once again, it will be a first-rate professional event! Our theme, The Art of Proposal Creation, is about turning ho-hum proposals into masterpieces by honing your skills ("art") to apply your proposal process knowledge ("science") effectively.

This year, topics include creation of powerful Executive Summaries and attention-grabbing cover art, setting up MS Word style sheets geared to the way you work, identifying cost-effective and free software help you work more efficiently, and finding ways to be a strong team leader in the absence of line authority. For a Symposium agenda, including topics and presenters, please click here.

The Symposium will be held at the Sheraton Seattle Hotel, just a short walk from the famous Pike Place Market in downtown Seattle, where fish fly through the air from one fish seller to another.

While the Market and many other nearby attractions are reason enough to visit Seattle, the real attraction for proposal professionals will be a full day of great speakers presenting lots of good information that you can put to use immediately upon your return to the office, whether you write proposals for commercial or government customers.

To register for the Symposium, please click here.

Special note: The accreditation training course scheduled for Thursday, September 22, has been cancelled. However, Symposium attendees who are not already accredited will get a bonus just for attending the Symposium: 60 days' access to Shipley's online Foundation-level accreditation training. This e-learning course normally costs $399, but it is absolutely FREE to Symposium attendees thanks to a very generous offer from Shipley!

Our Chapter has made special arrangements with the hotel for Deluxe Guestrooms for $159/night — that's $80 off the normal room rate! In addition, the rate is good for 3 days before and 3 days after the Symposium, so this might be a good opportunity to take a little vacation time and enjoy the many great things that Seattle has to offer. To arrange for hotel accommodations, please call the hotel directly (206-621-9000) and ask for the APMP room rate or book on line here: http://www.starwoodmeeting.com/Book/APMP2011Seattle
